   About the Founder

Candi James is a dedicated leader with a rich background in children and youth ministry, as well as performing arts ministry. With over 10 years of experience, she has successfully led teams and organized small groups, family activities, and conferences. Candi encourages those who feel lost or uncertain in life to serve and bloom where they are planted, guiding them to discover their purpose through service. As she puts it, "I know from my own journey as a young adult that finding your passion and purpose comes from serving others."


Candi firmly believes that if girls are given the right tools at an earlier age, they can begin leading in their communities and grow into a generation of leaders capable of making meaningful changes in the world. She emphasizes the need to be the change we want to see and the importance of being intentional about our choices, knowing that doing so adds value to ourselves and others.

  • About Lights On Girls

    Lights On Girls is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Candi James in 2017, initially starting as a series of vision board parties for teens. What began as a simple idea to inspire young girls quickly evolved into a full-fledged organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of female leaders.




    Community played a crucial role in helping Lights On Girls become what it is today. Through the support of her friends and family, Candi’s vision came to life. After taking a necessary break during the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has emerged with renewed focus and direction, more excited than ever to continue its mission of empowering young girls to become the leaders of tomorrow.

We are proud of the community we have built and the difference we continue to make in the lives of young leaders.
